Hello Folks,
The 2020-2021 TNAAU Wrestling Season is here! We will hold our first practice on Monday, Oct 26th at Independence High School!
I’m excited to see the club defend its Region 4 title. We are going to have a great season this year. Most of the coaching staff from last year will be returning to work with our wrestlers. I might be a little biased, but I think our coaching staff headed up by Coach Shipman, is the finest group of coaches you will find anywhere. I’m looking forward to seeing all of you. I know everyone is ready to get back on the mat.
As everyone would guess, there will be some challenges with Covid 19. Our initial plan is to kick off practices at Independence High School. After that we will have practices at the Franklin High Wrestling room, just as we did last year. We also have access to the United Auto Workers Union Hall and a building at the Rippa Villa Plantation, both of these locations are in Spring Hill. The plan is to offer a full season of practices between these locations. If for some reason schools close, we will use our other practice options.
Everyone will need to be flexible and open minded as we roll out the season. We should expect to follow some covid guidelines such as temperature checks, answering wellness questions, hand washing, and sanitizing our practice locations. Before each practice parents should be sure that their wrestler feels well enough to practice. Parents should only bring their wrestlers to practice. Please do not bring additional children. Our practices at Independence will only allow wrestlers and coaches. Parents will not be allowed to stay in the building. When picking your child up from practice we ask that you respect the time of our coaches and be at the school when practice ends. Our other practice locations may not be as strict as Independence, but we should try to social distance as much as possible at the other practice facilities.
Currently, there is a full TNAAU schedule for this season. There will be our own Music City, Top 100’s, open tournaments, beginner tournaments, team duals, the region tournament, and the state tournament. Like every year, we should expect a few of them to be cancelled. Overall, I think the schedule looks great.
We respectfully ask all parents to understand that the club cannot be held responsible for practice or tournament cancellations due to decisions made by government agencies, schools, USA Wrestling, AAU, TNAAU, or TSSAA.
As far as registration goes, please register your wrestlers as soon as possible! Coach Shipman needs to know what the wrestler roster will look like and we want to place our apparel order as soon as possible. If you would like a payment plan to contact me and I will get it done. Register now and pay later!
A quick registration process will make things easier on our end.
I’m looking forward to seeing all of you. It’s going to be a great season!
